Behind the Scenes of Digital Advertising: Universitas Tarumanagara Students Visit BSKSBT

On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, five eager Digital Advertising students from Universitas Tarumanagara (UnTar) visited the buzzing office of BSKSBT, part of the FAB Indonesia network. This insightful visit offered a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the dynamic world of advertising and the creative processes behind impactful campaigns.

 

A Warm Welcome from Industry Experts

BSKSBT’s top talents, Dimas M. Andriantono, Account Lead, and Deborah Megan, Social Media Lead, welcomed the students. Sharing their extensive knowledge, they shed light on the agency’s daily grind, challenges, and creative solutions. The students were introduced to the agency’s philosophy, embodied in its name, “Besok Sabtu,” which reflects the energy and excitement of looking forward to the weekend. This spirit drives the team to infuse joy and resilience into their work, making both clients and the team feel the thrill of innovation.

 

The Creative Hub of BSKSBT

As a digital agency within the FAB ecosystem, BSKSBT focuses on social media management and digital campaigns, crafting strategies that are not just creative but data-driven. The students explored various divisions:

  1. Account (Client Servicing): Bridging the gap between clients and the creative team, understanding client needs, and ensuring project excellence.

  2. Social Media Team: Not just about creating content but achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like views, likes, and engagement. From “hijack” tactics to viral trends, the team showed how social strategies could dominate digital platforms.

  3. Production: A straightforward yet crucial division, responsible for translating ideas into engaging reels, ads, and videos. With an in-house studio, BSKSBT can produce everything from TikTok content to professional-grade ads.

 

Lessons in Social Media Strategy

Through interactive discussions, the students gained a deeper understanding of social media campaign processes. Dimas and Deborah emphasized that social media isn’t merely about posting; it’s about strategizing for measurable success.

 

“Social media involves accountability. We plan strategies to achieve specific KPIs, from likes and views to comments. Every aspect of engagement matters,” Dimas explained.

 

Deborah added, “Creating viral content isn’t just about luck. From bloopers to hijacks, every move is calculated to spark curiosity and discussion.”

 

Bridging Theory with Practice

One standout moment was when a student mentioned Sasha #ColorfulComeback campaign as a creative benchmark. This led to a lively discussion about how agencies like BSKSBT strategize to align content with audience preferences, leveraging data-driven insights to target precise demographics. Dimas elaborated, “The beauty of digital advertising lies in its targeting. Unlike TV ads, digital allows us to reach the exact audience who wants our product. Every swipe, every scroll becomes an opportunity.”

 

The Road Ahead

As the session wrapped up, the students left with valuable insights into the advertising world, from the intricacies of campaign planning to client relationships. They also learned about the creativity required to overcome challenges and craft impactful campaigns. This visit underscores FAB Indonesia’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of advertising professionals by opening its doors to curious minds. While this wasn’t the first time BSKSBT hosted students, it’s a testament to their openness to sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration with academic institutions.

 

For these UnTar students, the visit was more than just an academic activity; it was an inspiring glimpse into a vibrant, fast-paced industry that thrives on creativity, strategy, and innovation.
